Match List I with List II: i. World Environment Day · ii. World Forestry Day · iii. World Habitat Day · iv. World Ozone Day — 1. March 21 · 2. June 5 · 3. September 16 · 4. October 3 · 5. December 10

Show the answer and explanation

Answer: (d) i-2, ii-1, iii-4, iv-3

Environment Day June 5 · Forestry Day March 21 · Habitat Day early October · Ozone Day September 16.

The idea

Many environment days are the anniversary of a treaty or conference. Knowing the event fixes the date.

2 February: Wetlands Day → Ramsar Convention signed, 1971 → 3 March: Wildlife Day → CITES signed, 1973 → 5 June: Environment Day → Stockholm Conference opened, 1972 → 16 September: Ozone Day → Montreal Protocol signed, 1987

The trap

June 5 (Environment Day) and September 16 (Ozone Day) together fix the answer.

Also know

Others: 21 March forests, 22 March water, 22 April Earth Day, 22 May biological diversity, 17 June desertification and drought, 29 July tiger. World Habitat Day is the first Monday of October, so its date changes each year; so do not learn the 3 October in this question as a fixed date.

🔒 Environment Day 5 June · Forests 21 March · Ozone 16 Sept · Wetlands 2 Feb · Biodiversity 22 May.
