The Colour Revolutions of Farming: asked and not asked.
UPSC has asked 6 of these 22. 3 came more than once. 16 have not come yet. Lock the repeated ones first, then read the rest.
First, the concept
A 'revolution' here means a planned jump in the output of one farm product. Each one carries a colour name.
The Green Revolution (from 1966) used high-yield seeds, fertiliser and irrigation, first for wheat in Punjab, Haryana and western Uttar Pradesh. M. S. Swaminathan led it in India; Norman Borlaug was its global father.
UPPCS asks a colour with its product, and the person linked to it. Some colours have more than one meaning in books; the lines below give the meaning most used in exams.
