First, the concept

Regional kingdoms competed for political centres and supported temples, monasteries and scholars. The tripartite struggle concerned Kannauj and involved Palas, Gurjara-Pratiharas and Rashtrakutas, not the Cholas.

Match each dynasty to its region before adding founder, capital or monument. Land grants often transferred revenue rights and strengthened local power; regional labels and titles should not be confused with personal names.
