UPPCS Indian Geography Gap Sheet: Iron Ore of India.
UPPCS has asked 12 of these. 5 have not been asked yet. Lock the first list, then read the second: it holds what UPPCS has not used yet.
First, the concept
Iron ore comes in four kinds. Magnetite has the most iron (about 72 percent), then haematite (about 70 percent), then limonite and siderite.
Most of India's ore is haematite, from the old Dharwar rocks of the peninsula.
Odisha is the largest producer. Karnataka holds most of the magnetite. The Odisha–Jharkhand belt and the Bailadila range of Chhattisgarh are the big haematite belts.
Ore for export goes out through Paradip, Visakhapatnam, Mormugao and New Mangalore.

⚠️ Bailadila is in Chhattisgarh and Noamundi in Jharkhand, not Odisha. Kudremukh ore is magnetite and went out through New Mangalore, not Mormugao.
