UPPCS Indian Geography Gap Sheet: Peaks of India.

UPPCS has asked 21 of these. 12 have not been asked yet. Lock the first list, then read the second: it holds what UPPCS has not used yet.

First, the concept

Every range has one highest peak, and UPPCS asks it as a pair: peak and state, or peak and range.

On India's map, K2 (Ladakh) is India's highest peak. Kangchenjunga (Sikkim) is the highest in the area India administers. Nanda Devi is the highest peak that lies wholly inside India.

South of the Himalayas, Anamudi (Kerala) is the highest. Then each range: Nilgiri → Doddabetta, Aravalli → Guru Shikhar, Satpura → Dhupgarh.

UPPCS also asks order: east to west along the Himalayas, or north to south down the country.

⚠️ Gosain Than and Namcha Barwa are in Tibet, and Everest is on the Nepal border: none of them is in India. Anamudi is in Kerala, not Tamil Nadu.

'Asked' and 'not asked' are checked against every UPPCS question on this site. 'Not asked yet' does not mean it will surely come.
