- (b) Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, and Orissa
- (c) Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, and Rajasthan

Show the answer and explanation
Answer: (c) Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, and Rajasthan
The Chambal rises near Mhow (MP), forms the MP–Rajasthan border and joins the Yamuna in UP.
The idea
A river’s State list follows its entire course, including boundary stretches. Its source State and confluence State can be different. A river that forms part of a State border must not be assigned to only one bank.
Source near Mhow in Madhya Pradesh → Flows through central Indian uplands → Reaches Rajasthan and border stretches → Runs towards the Uttar Pradesh plain → Joins the Yamuna near Etawah
Why the others are wrong
(b) Odisha is far away.
Also know
